Falcons Fall to Wyoming, 4-1, at MWC Championships

The Air Force women's tennis team closed out its 2008 season Wednesday by falling to Wyoming, 4-1, in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Championships at Fort Worth, Texas. Wyoming, seeded eighth, advances to play top-seeded TCU in the quarterfinals, while the Falcons, the tournament's ninth-seed, ended their season at 6-21 overall.

Falcons Split Two Matches to Close Out Regular Season

The Air Force women's tennis team completed its 2008 regular season Saturday by splitting a pair of matches at the Academy. The Falcons dropped the opening match of the day, 5-2, to Colorado State in the MWC finale. Later in the day, Air Force shut out Metro State, 7-0. With the split, the Falcons finished 6-20 overall and 0-8 in the league play.

Junior Christine Abayan and sophomore Erlyn Rudico won the No. 1 doubles match for the Falcons, defeating Dolly Chang and Kristina Doerr, 8-7(2), while freshman Christen Monreal won at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-2, over Jocelyn Jensen.
