Brett Rodgers named MWC Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Brett Rodgers was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Players of the Week for the week of March 13-18. This marks the second career honor for Rodgers.

Rodgers, a sophomore from Midland, Texas, went a combined 6-0 at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions as the Falcons won two of three matches at home. Rodgers swept Montana's Colin Dektar (6-0, 6-2) in the Falcons' 4-3 loss to the Grizzlies, then rallied for three-set wins over Northern Colorado's Vinnie Fallico (6-7, 6-1, 6-4) and Dayton's James O'Connell (4-6, 6-0, 6-2) to lead Air Force to victory in both matches. In doubles play, Rodgers teamed with Taylor Soster to rack up a trio of victories over Montana's Dektar and Alexandre Gorj (8-2), UNC's Fallico and Paul Tschetter (8-6) and Dayton's O'Connell and David Peyton (8-3).

The Falcons, 10-8 this season, open conference play on Thursday, March 27 against TCU in Las Vegas, Nev.
