INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Air Force senior Kenny Grosselin was named a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the NCAA announced. Grosselin, a captain for the cross country team during the fall season, becomes the seventh cross country runner to earn the prestigious award.

Grosselin joins former Falcons Jim Murphy (1965-66), Mike Ryan (1969-70), John Jones (1970-71), Chris Nelson (1991-92), Dolly Patel (1995-96) and Shane Rogers (2000-01) as recipients of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

A two-time academic all-conference selection and MWC Scholar-Athlete, Grosselin holds a 3.95 grade-point-average in mathematics. The 2007 team captain was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team as a junior for track and field/cross country. He has competed in the conference and regional championship meets during each of his last two years.

The NCAA awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.

The one-time grants of $7,500 each are awarded for fall sports, winter sports and spring sports. Each sports season (fall, winter and spring) there are 29 scholarships available for men and 29 scholarships available for women. The scholarships are one-time, non-renewable grants that can be used for research, books, tuition and other educational expenses at any graduate school.
