HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in the pole vault at the California state championships all four years...finished third in the state as a junior with a jump of 12'9"...set a personal-best 12'10 at the state meet during senior season to finish fifth...also finished fifth in the pole vault at the 2007 Golden West Invitational.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Craig and Carol Simmons...nickname is Rip...has four younger siblings, Robbie, Cale, Olivia and Isabel...planning on earning a double major in military strategic studies and humanities...future plans include becoming a "full bird colonel and Arabic translator"...serves as a "human alarm clock" at the Academy...avid Rubix Cube enthusiast and fan of Discovery Channel...hobbies include skiing, cloud watching and training her cat.
