Air Force Academy fencer Peter French competed in the 2008 Junior World Championships, April 6-14, in Acireale, Italy. As the No. 2 man on the three-member junior epee team, French finished in 51st place among 130 fencers. The USA team of Jonathan Yergler, French and James Hawrot finished 12th among 31 teams.

Other events: The men's foil team won the event, while the sabre team took fourth place. In the women's events, the epee team won the gold, the sabre team took the silver and the foil team placed seventh.
